facing a new diagnosis or surgery?
Start with a plan built around you.
Having a new diagnosis of a long-term condition, cancer or preparing for surgery can change the way you feel about your body. You may wish to get your body into the best condition possible to face your future but pain, symptoms or inactivity over time makes this hard to start. You may have concerns about exercising with your new diagnosis or chronic pain, injury or simply feeling too lost to get back to the gym. We will design a programme to get you back to feeling yourself, better than you have felt and moved in years but we will do this safely, supported and whilst meeting similar companions along the way.
Our comprehensive assessment and analysis helps us understand your health, identify factors that may be limiting you and build a personalised plan alongside your existing medical care. We offer you the in depth analysis the NHS wants to do, but can’t.
Understand what may be holding you back
A full medical and functional assessment
Our doctors review your medical history, medicine history, treatment plans, symptoms, functional ability and strength. We listen to what matters to you, whether that is preparing for surgery, fighting cancer, reversing diabetes or hypertension, of countering muscle loss after weight reducing medications.
Blood tests
Targeted testing looks for potentially treatable contributors to reduced function, including anaemia, thyroid disorders and changes in kidney or liver function. Further specific tests are selected according to your needs.
Heart screening and CPET
Heart screening, including an ECG, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) are key to help us understand your response to activity and guide your exercise plan. It also has diagnostic capabilities for investigating fatigue and breathlessness.
Physiotherapy focused on function
We assess movement, address the effects of previous injuries and adapt exercise around pain, weakness or restricted mobility, helping you build strength and reduce injury risk. We focus on key areas that matter like stabilty, mobility and strength building.
Sleep and body composition assessment
Overnight oximetry can help assess possible sleep disorders and sleep apnoea and our doctors can assess if further refereral is needed. Body composition analysis helps us understand core muscle mass and body fat, looking far beyond weight alone.
A starting point that respects your health
We bring your results together to establish an appropriate starting point and tailor exercise, physiotherapy and nutrition support to your condition, treatment and goals.
Your programme progresses at a pace appropriate to you, with review and adjustment as your needs change.
Reverse chronic conditions. Prepare for surgery. Survive illness. Support everyday function. Rebuild confidence.
